To see Jesus. To know Jesus. To be Jesus. To share Jesus

We of The Glen Methodist Church are called to be followers of Christ, and through the power of the Holy Spirit to share Christ’s gospel with our community and the world. We will make disciples as we worship God and serve in the love of Christ.

About us

The Glen Methodist Church is situated in Garsfontein in the East of Pretoria, near the Menlyn Park business and shopping node. The church complex is in close proximity to a number of schools, retirement villages and hospitals, as well as older, more established suburbs and rapidly growing areas mainly occupied by young families. The Glen has the opportunity to serve, influence and draw on a mixed populace of families with young children, more established families with teenage/young adult members, the elderly, many working single people and a strong economically active group, be it entrepreneurs, academia and private sector, political and government employees.

The Glen Methodist Church is showing a wonderfully interlaced demographic profile, with various cultures and races. The church is rapidly becoming an increasingly internationally and nationally diverse community with people from the African continent, Europe, Asia and white and black South Africans who together form a rich mix of cultures and experiences.

We are in the process of developing a multi-disciplinary Pastoral Care Centre for Healing, Wholeness and Justice, providing a venue for activities that will benefit the community within which we are situated.

The Glen has been home to many families for more than 30 years and always seems to invite and receive her children back, even if they explored the world for a while. It speaks volumes of “solidity” and permanence in the midst of a busy and changing society. Having said that, The Glen is aware of staying in step with changes that are required to bring about accountable stewardship and greater influence and to that end, are open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit as given to individuals to serve the body and in prayer, are guided by this same Spirit to follow the head of the church, Jesus Christ, without compromise.
